LIQUID MEDIA System Requirements
As is always the case with complex Multi-Media software, best results
will be achieved using well-configured computers. While effective
presentations may still be composed on more humble systems, we strongly
recommend the following:
SkunkLabs. LiquidMedia Editor (The Editor requires more resources
than the Player.)
Microsoft® Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP or
ME (And Windows NT® 4.0 or later versions, but only if they can
run DirectX 7.0 or above.)
Pentium II MMX or AMD, 350Mhz processor or
better. (500Mhz would be preferable!)
64 Mb of RAM, but preferably 128 Mb or more.
2Mb of Video RAM.
120 megabytes of hard-disk space (more if you
wish to load all the extra clip-art), but preferably of 3 Gb capacity
(and the faster the drive the better).
8 megabyte Graphics card (hardware acceleration
is preferable), particularly if you wish to fly 3d objects
around the screen.
256-color display adapter (although a 24-bit
color display adapter would be preferable) and compatible monitor.
A Sound Card is recommended.
You will require a CD-ROM drive and at least
100Mb of free disk space for the installation (if installing from
CD).
DirectX 7.0 or better & Direct Media 6.0a
or better.
Windows 98 and 2000 includes DirectX, but Windows 95 did not. Similarly,
NT machines require their own version of DirectX... Liquid Media will
check this for you. Alternatively, you can download the latest versions
of DirectX (for free!)
from various sites on the web, including Microsofts own sites.
For example, you can get DirectX 8.0 (as of Feb 2001) from Microsoft
or from SkunkLabs
own web site:
We recommend that you download DirectX version 8.n ... if you decide
to remain with version 7.n, however, please be aware that you will
also need to have DirectX Media version 7.n installed as well.
Caution: Please also be aware, though, that DirectX 8.0 run-time
cannot be easily uninstalled. DirectX is a system component. It cannot
be uninstalled without reinstalling your entire Operating System or
using a utility such as McAfee Uninstaller, although you can install
any version of DirectX over the top of an existing one.
SkunkLabs. LiquidMedia Player
The "minimum" requirements to run the player are:
Pentium MMX or AMD processor or better.
64 Mb of RAM, but preferably 128 Mb or more.
30 megabytes of hard-disk space
4 megabyte Graphics card (hardware acceleration is preferable).
