Overview
Almost all functions in LiquidMedia can be accessed by toolbars, menus or by HotKeys. There are four main toolbars.
  • Menu Bar, contains most commands and options. If in full-screen mode also contains the minimize and close buttons.
  • Main Toolbar, contains editing and common commands. The layout changes between Scene and Actor Views.
  • Actor Toolbar, can add new actors to the active scene.
  • Actor Properties Toolbar, can change the properties of the selected actor.

Menu Bar and Menus
The menu bar contains the bulk of commands and options contained within Liquid Media. The menu bar can be dragged up and down (vertically) for viewing or editing the top of a scene.

Dump Screen Save a copy of the current screen to disk or to the printer.
Create Movie Save a Video of the current
presentation or selected scene to disk
Publish Publish a Presentation
Recent Files A list of recently opened
presentations.
Preferences Set Liquid Media Preferences
Quit Quit Liquid Media

Cut Cut selection into clipboard
Delete Delete actor that is highlighted
Copy Copy selection to clipboard
Paste Paste contents of the Clipboard into
the selected object
Select All Select all actors
Select None Deselect all actors
Select from List Choose which actors to select from a list
Rotate Actor Enables freeform rotation on the current actor.

View Menu

Scene View View Presentation Thumbnails
Actor View View/Edit a Scene
Path Options Enable/Disable Path Shadow, Path Ticks, End Points, Segment Times and Segment Tweens.
Scroll on Edges Enable/Disable scrolling when dragging an actor to the edge of the screen area.
Show Scrollbars Show/Hide Scrollbars
Show Media Time Show/Hide the playing time on media actors.
Show Grid Show/Hide the design grid
Snap to Grid When enabled actors will snap to the grid lines when they are moved.
Hide Windows Hide Windows on presentation and Scene View
Scroll on Edges When moving an actor scroll off the edge of scene
Show Scrollbars Show scrollbars on scene view
Snap to Grid When moving a actor snap movement to grid points
Lock Bounds to Front Makes the bounding line that represents the edges of the presentation always on top.
Show Only Selected Actors When enabled, only currently selected actors will be visible.
Show Selected Actors Paths When enabled, all selected actors paths will be visible.

Preview Preview current scene (Space)
Play Play Presentation (P)
Layout Menu
Align Moves the selected actors to be perfectly aligned based on the anchor you choose, for example.. the current actor's left edge, or the left side of the screen.
Space Evenly Space the selected actors evenly either horizontally or vertically.
Make Same Size Make the selected actors the same size as the currently active actor - options include width, height or both.
Centre Centre the selected actors either horizontally, vertically or both.
Flip Flip the selected actors position either vertically, horizontally or both
Tools Menu
   
Different options become available in the tools menu depending on which type of actor you are currently selected on.

The following four features are always available:

Report Display Project Report
Print Scenes Print your Presentation
Reload Images Refreshes all the images within the scene.
Convert Images
to Anim
Create an animated image ("anim") from a number of static images.






Available while selected on a "Image" actor:

Save Image Actor as Image Save a snapshot of the currently selected image.


Available while selected on a "Media" actor:

Save Media Actor Frame as Image Save the current frame as an image.
Convert Media Actor Frame to Image Actor Replace the selected media actor with a new image actor of the current frame.
Clone Media Actor Frame as Image Actor Create a new image actor of the current frame.
Convert Media to Frames Create an animated image ("anim") from a number of static images.
Convert Media to Anim Split the Media Actor into frames and use them to create an animated Image Actor (anim).


Available while selected on a "Text" actor:

Save Text Actor Frame as Image Save the current frame of the selected text actor as an image file.
Convert Text Actor Frame to Image Actor Replace the currently selected text actor with an image actor.
Clone Text Actor Frame to Image Actor Create a new image actor from the current frame of the selected text actor.


Available while selected on a "3D" actor:

Save 3D Actor Frame as Image Save the current frame of the selected 3D actor as an image file.
Convert 3D Actor Frame to Image Actor Replace the currently selected 3D actor with an image actor.
Clone 3D Actor Frame to Image Actor Create a new image actor from the current frame of the selected 3D actor.


Available while selected on a "Button" actor:

Save Button Actor Frame as Image Save the current frame of the selected Button actor as an image file.
Convert Button Actor Frame to Image Actor Replace the currently selected Button actor with an image actor.
Clone Button Actor Frame to Image Actor Create a new image actor from the current frame of the selected Button actor.

Main Toolbar
The toolbar contains the common commands for general usage. The toolbar is always located under the menu bar.


Actors Toolbar
The Actor toolbar will add new actors to the currently active scene. The Actor Toolbar is only viewable while editing a scene. Please click on the actor images to see the related topic.

Properties Toolbar
The Actor Properties toolbar will configure the selected actor's properties. The Actor Properties Toolbar is only viewable while editing a scene. Click on the property images to see the related topic.

Hiding and Moving the Menubar and Toolbars
To hide the menubar and toolbars while in scene view, right click anywhere on the scene to hide or show the menubar and toolbars attached. To move the menubar and toolbars attached, drag the menubar vertically into the position desired.
